Do you have a back pain? What could it be?

Back pain is a condition affecting many millions of people around the world and the amount of working hours lost due to such events would add up to many billions of dollars. One of the most noticeable when a person suffers from a back pain for the first time would be, how they take it for granted. This will not only prevent them from finding a cure for the cause but would allow the cause  to aggravate till it is no longer easily treatable.

When looking deeper into this kind of scenario, it is evident that  not knowing the possible reasons for a back pain is one important determinant on how people react and therefore following list will help a person understand how crucial is the need to determine what gave rise to the back pain as the first step.

Causes of a back pain:
  • Adapting bad postures at work, play, daily activities, lifting, sleeping...etc.
  • Inadequate warming up before play activities.
  • Trauma to the lower back.
  • Osteoporosis leading to fractures of the spine.
  • Fractures
  • Nerve root entrapment
  • Cancers and tumors
  • Radiating pain from internal organs or nearby structures
  • Infections or inflammatory conditions in the spine and in the soft tissues.
Therefore, a lower back pain which persist, should be investigated under a clinician and depending on the outcome, appropriate measures need to be followed. But, it should be remembered that, in most instances, a clear diagnosis would not be possible!
